  Abstract: Considering that maintaining the family system is of particular importance and the intimacy between couples is one of the most important issues in maintaining family unity, therefore, it seems necessary to pay attention to factors such as gratitude that have an effect on marital intimacy. On the other hand, since the divine religions, especially the religion of Islam, with an all-round view of man and all aspects of his life, put forward valuable teachings to preserve and strengthen the relationships of people in the family, paying gratitude in the context of the texts of the Islamic religion is useful. And it will be effective. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to qualitatively study the role of gratitude in the context of Quranic verses and traditions of the innocents in the quality of marital intimacy. To achieve this goal, qualitative approach and thematic analysis method were used in this research. In the first implementation, with the initial study of the text and translation, the verses of the Holy Quran and the hadiths of the innocents, peace be upon them, related to gratitude, were identified and separated by considering the special words of gratitude. Then it was referred to the interpretation of the verses and the description of the desired narrations. In total, the research findings were obtained in the form of ۲۰ sub-themes and ۶ main themes, which are: creation of useful knowledge, activation of beneficial behaviors, emotional expansion, expansion of secretary, fruitfulness of conjugal relationship, expansion of sustenance.
